REPLICA WINDOWS:
THE RIGHT SOLUTION!
Many pre-nineteen forties steel windows are causing
problems with distortion, deep-seated rust and general
corrosion.
These historic windows were manufactured prior to galvanising
and powder coating techniques which protect and preserve
today’s modern product.
Often these windows are fitted into listed facades
and buildings of great historical and national importance
many being of unique design. Their slim sections are
a significant and important feature of our overall
architectural heritage.
Unsympathetic and thoughtless replacement have caused
irreversible disfigurement to much of the countries
building stock. However, it is in most instances possible
to replicate these heritage windows and doors designs with modern steel
window sections, and having the additional benefits of
galvanising, weatherstripping, polyester powder coating
and double glazing. They preserve both the buildings
special characteristics and its beauty.
As part of TOTAL WINDOW CARE, West
Leigh has since the nineteen forties built up a wealth
of experience in windows replication and have
advised many clients and architects on such schemes.
